De neurale architectuur van taal Welke hersengebieden zijn betrokken bij het spreken?

Abstract

‘Hoe was je weekend?’ Deze vraag is een uitnodiging om woorden te produceren. Hij roept allerhande activiteit op in onze hersenen, die nodig is om op deze vraag een antwoord te geven als: ‘Prima, we zijn naar het bloemencorso geweest.’ Niet al deze hersenactiviteit heeft puur en alleen met het taalproductieproces als zodanig te maken. We moeten bijvoorbeeld ons geheugen raadplegen om de juiste informatie over het afgelopen weekend op te halen en ook moeten we een keuze maken over wat we wel en wat we liever niet vertellen.
