Getuigenisbehandeling bij child survivors en nakomelingen van oorlogsslachtoffers: een pilot-studie

Samenvatting

Bij een behandeling met de getuigenismethode worden levensverhalen van patiënten uitgewerkt tot getuigenisdocumenten. Tot dusver is de methode alleen beschreven als behandelvorm voor slachtoffers van oorlogshandelingen of martelingen. Deze pilot-studie beschrijft de getuigenismethode als behandelvorm voor nakomelingen van direct getraumatiseerden. Bij het merendeel van de patiënten verminderden de psychische klachten niet of nauwelijks. Vervolgonderzoek moet uitwijzen of er een subgroep is waarvoor de behandeling wel effectief is en of er sprake is van een uitgesteld effect.

Voor één patiënt werd een uitzondering gemaakt. Zij werd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog geboren (februari 1945), maar was nog zeer jong. Omdat haar ouders traumatische gebeurtenissen hebben meegemaakt werd zij tot de naoorlogse generatie gerekend.
