Samenvatting

Eetstoornissen zoals anorexia nervosa zijn complexe psychosomatische ziektebeelden waarbij een afwijkend eetpatroon en een verstoorde gewichtsregulatie leiden tot ondergewicht en hormonale afwijkingen. Omdat er bij AN sprake is van een combinatie van omgevingsinvloeden en psychologische, biologische en genetische factoren, is kennis van de gevolgen van deze verschillende aspecten voor een goede behandeling van groot belang.
