Entropion en ectropion

Samenvatting

Bij een entropion is de rand van het ooglid naar binnen gekeerd, waardoor de oogharen tegen de oogbol aanschuren en de oogbol kan beschadigen. Bij een ectropion is de rand van het ooglid naar buiten gekeerd, waardoor het hoornvlies kan uitdrogen en beschadigen. Beide aandoeningen komen vooral op hogere leeftijd voor en zullen niet spontaan herstellen. Opereren kan een oplossing zijn. In afwachting daarvan kunnen oogdruppels of ooggel de klachten verlichten.
