Een late pericardiale tamponnade na penetrerend thoraxletsel

‘Shaved and saved by the cold blue steel’

Samenvatting

Late pericardiale tamponnade wordt weinig gezien. In deze casus presenteren wij een patiënt die zich presenteerde op de spoedeisende hulp met secundaire pericardiale tamponnade na een zelf aangebracht penetrerend letsel aan de linkerthoraxhelft. De operatietechniek met gebruikmaking van het subxifoïdale venster wordt beschreven. Naar aanleiding van de literatuur verdient het aanbeveling bij patiënten met penetrerend thoraxletsel, zonder afwijkingen op de CT-scan van de thorax, tijdens opname meermalen een echo van het hart te herhalen om vroegtijdig secundaire harttamponnade te diagnosticeren.
