This is a very comprehensive and ambitious work exploring assessments and intervention methods relating to dysphagia i.e. neurological impairment resulting in eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. However, its title ‘Eating and Drinking Difficulties in Children’ is somewhat misleading as this work only addresses dysphagia. A reference to this on the cover of the manual would instantly avoid any misunderstanding. Entirely different approaches need to be employed when eating and drinking difficulties are rooted in emotional issues, intolerance of change or impaired understanding of social contexts. …
