De transuretero-ureterostomie: ‘het lelijke eendje’ bij ureterherstel?

Samenvatting

Een transuretero-ureterostomie (TUU) is een operatie die in de literatuur zeer weinig is beschreven, met name de TUU bij volwassenen. In dit artikel wordt een illustratieve casus beschreven van een 31-jarige patiënte die een acute uterusextirpatie onderging in verband met een placenta praevia totalis en percreta. Bij deze ingreep ontstond er een ureterdefect van 6 cm en werd een TUU uitgevoerd. In een recent gehouden enquête onder Nederlandse urologen blijkt dat de TUU, ondanks dat het een waardevolle operatie is, in Nederland net zo weinig wordt uitgevoerd als deze in de internationale literatuur wordt beschreven.
