Caring for Myself offers visual and verbal sequences “…for children who need extra support and guidance in understanding routines related to caring for their bodies (p. 5).” Activities of daily living, including hand-washing, bathing, getting a hair cut, brushing teeth, and going to the doctor are outlined in clear pictures with concrete, meaningful language to support understanding. This book would be especially useful for a child requiring external structure and visual supports to guide independent self-care. …
