Benigne paroxismale positieduizeligheid (BPPD) is een van de meest voorkomende oorzaken van acute draaiduizeligheid. De duizeligheid duurt enige seconden tot enkele minuten. Bij het merendeel van de patiënten gaan de klachten binnen vier weken vanzelf over. De incidentie van BPPD in de open populatie is ongeveer 64 per 100.000 inwoners per jaar.1 Op het spreekuur van de huisarts is de incidentie 2 tot 3 patiënten per 1000 patiënten per jaar.2 Hun gemiddelde leeftijd is 54 jaar met een leeftijdspreiding van 11 tot 84 jaar.3 …
