13. Beeldvormend onderzoek en de PACU-patiënt

Samenvatting

Naast klassieke röntgentechnieken zoals de X-thorax krijgt echografische beeldvorming een steeds grotere rol bij het differentiëren van cardiaal en respiratoir falen en stellen van diagnoses op de PACU. Ook het plaatsen van centrale lijnen en arteriële canules wordt steeds vaker onder echografie verricht. Beeldvorming heeft als voordeel dat ze non-invasief is en dat ze voorziet in realtime diagnostische informatie over uiteenlopende pathologieën. Transport van patiënten voor diagnostiek is een belangrijk risicomoment en wordt ook in dit hoofdstuk beschreven.
