Samenvatting

Acute toxische hepatitis is geen zeldzame aandoening en stelt artsen soms voor een moeilijk differentiaaldiagnostisch probleem. De pathofysiologie is complex. Naast directe en indirecte, immuungemedieerde toxiciteit spelen ook genetische en verworven factoren een rol. Het cytochroom P-450-systeem neemt een centrale plaats in. De klinische presentatie, het tijdsverloop, de laboratoriumafwijkingen en de ontwikkeling verschillen al naargelang het product, en er worden verschillende types onderscheiden. In dit artikel bespreken we systematisch deze verschillende types, alsook hun meest representatieve voorbeelden.
