Perioperatieve zorg omvat de preoperatieve zorg en risico-inschatting van patiënten, de zorg tijdens de operatie en de nazorg. Om goede perioperatieve zorg te leveren, is een goed begrip nodig van de fysiologische (hemodynamische, metabole) effecten van chirurgie.
