Samenvatting

Het is nog niet zo lang geleden dat de familieleden niet standaard bij de behandeling werden betrokken. De therapie had als doel een individu met een stoornis genezing te bieden en in de arts-patiëntrelatie waren voldoende voorwaarden hiervoor aanwezig, zo dacht men. Enerzijds was er de arts met zijn medische kennis en kunde en anderzijds de patiënt met zijn aandoening en wens om beter te worden. De familie had men niet nodig om genezing te kunnen bewerkstelligen. Dat is nu anders.
