Wat zijn de effecten van frequente intra-articulaire injecties met depot corticosteroïd?

Samenvatting

Na ruim een halve eeuw ervaring, (in 1951 werd de eerste intra-articulaire injectie met corticosteroïden gegeven) zou het mogelijk moeten zijn bovenstaande vraag te beantwoorden. Deze therapie heeft dus al een halve eeuw overleefd en wordt nog steeds veelvuldig in de dagelijkse praktijk toegepast. Elke reumatoloog zou, alle injecties in weke delen als bursae en peeskokers meegerekend, elk spreekuur wel één of twee keer een corticosteroïdinjectie geven.
