Samenvatting

De term “repetitive strain injury” of “repetition strain injury” (RSI) werd voor het eerst gebruikt in de jaren ‘80 in Australië. Daar werd een “epidemie” van klachten beschreven onder vooral telefonisten, mensen die veel aan een toetsenbord werkten en andere administratief werkenden (6). Later ontstonden vergelijkbare “epidemieën” in de Verenigde Staten en in het Verenigd Koninkrijk (11).
