Samenvatting

De beroerte is één van de belangrijkste doodsoorzaken in onze westerse wereld en de belangrijkste oorzaak voor invaliditeit. Mensen die herstellen van een beroerte, gaan een lang en zwaar traject in. En ook voor verpleegkundigen is het omgaan met deze patiënten niet eenvoudig, vooral ook omdat de oude NDT-richtlijn niet meer voldeed. Er ontstond behoefte aan een nieuwe, evidence- based richtlijn. En die is er gekomen. Met de Verpleegkundige Revalidatierichtlijn Beroerte kunnen verpleegkundigen nu effectiever en efficiënter handelen. Dit artikel behandelt de totstandkoming ervan en belicht de belangrijkste aanbevelingen uit de richtlijn.
