De Nederlandse Kankerregistratie vermeldt voor het jaar 2011 een incidentie van 6149 nieuwe patiënten met blaaskanker, met een man-vrouwverhouding van 3,4 : 1,0. Bij mannen betreft het 5,2% van alle voorkomende maligniteiten.
