Abstract

Coronary atherosclerosis may lead towards thrombogenesis, usually triggered by rupture or erosion of a vulnerable epicardial coronary artery plaque. Most acute coronary syndromes are caused by ruptured atherosclerotic plaques with superimposed thrombus.
