Snurken is een veel voorkomende klacht; de prevalentie varieert tussen 24-50% bij mannen en tussen 14-30% bij vrouwen. 1 Snurken leidt tot sociale ongemakken omdat de omgeving en met name de bedpartner er hinder van ondervindt.
