Samenvatting

Het schoudergewricht is het meest mobiele gewricht van het menselijk lichaam. Heel wat structuren zijn noodzakelijk om dit gewricht te stabiliseren. Bij falen van een van deze mechanismen kan een instabiliteit ontstaan. Aangezien het pathologisch gamma zeer uitgebreid is (richting van instabiliteit, graad van instabiliteit en conservatieve versus operatieve behandeling) is een adequate classificatie noodzakelijk. In dit artikel wordt getracht om door anamnese, klinische testen en beeldvorming de verschillende instabiliteiten te onderscheiden om zo tot een adequate behandeling te kunnen overgaan.
