Samenvatting

Chronisch hartfalen is een veelvoorkomende cardiovasculaire aandoening. De behandeling rust op twee pijlers: medicijnen en leefstijlaanpassingen, waaronder fysieke training. In de afgelopen vijftien jaar is daarbij ook plaats gekomen voor krachttraining, naast de algemene training van het uithoudingsvermogen. Krachttraining heeft een gunstige invloed op de grote spiergroepen die nodig is voor de uitvoering van veel ADL en is ook voor CHF-patiënten veilig uit te voeren. Hiervoor worden concrete trainingsrichtlijnen gegeven.
