Abstract

Recent zijn er in toenemende mate aanwijzingen dat acute nierschade, ontstaan tijdens een opname op de IC-unit, niet alleen een indicator is voor de ernst van de onderliggende aandoening die de nierschade heeft veroorzaakt, maar dat omgekeerd de verminderde nierfunctie zelf ook bijdraagt aan morbiditeit en toegenomen sterfte. 1 In dit artikel wordt dieper ingegaan op de overwegingen die bij de toepassing van continue venoveneuze hemofiltratie moeten worden gemaakt.
