9 Obstipatie

Samenvatting

Obstipatie (verstopping) is het gevolg van afwijkende motiliteit van het colon, onderdrukking van de defecatiereflex of anatomische of functionele afwijkingen in het anale gebied. Onder deze omstandigheden blijft de ontlasting te lang in het colon, waardoor deze indroogt. Deze fecesretentie of coprostase kan uiteenlopende klachten geven.
