Samenvatting

Veel patiënten met chemo- of radiotherapie krijgen er last van: orale mucositis. Deze pijnlijke bijwerking kan verstrekkende gevolgen hebben. Door tijdige behandeling is echter veel leed te voorkomen.

Low level lasertherapie wordt zowel preventief als curatief ingezet bij orale mucositis. Een lage dosis laserstraling in de mond vermindert ontsteking en pijn.
