14. Late effecten van kanker

Samenvatting

Het aantal mensen in leven na een behandeling voor kanker neemt toe. In 2020 zijn er in Nederland naar schatting 670.000 mensen, oftewel ruim 4 % van de algemene bevolking, overlevenden van kanker. Deze toename wordt in de gehele westerse wereld waargenomen en is een gevolg van verbeterde behandelingen, stijging van de incidentie van kanker, vergrijzing, en de verbeterde levensverwachting van de algemene bevolking.
