Picture an incomprehensible vastness of space, with no beginning, no end, and no center. Vast emptiness, and yet full of discrete foci of matter, galaxies with unimaginable numbers of stars, these galaxies themselves clustered over unthinkable distances and times in what look like bubbles, membranes drawn over emptiness, yet also receding from each other at incredible speeds in an accelerating expansion that can be extrapolated backward 13.8 billion years, at which point, as we have seen, all matter and energy, space and time must have been condensed into a droplet of no dimension whatsoever and nothing outside of it because there is no outside to the universe. …

Not cognition and meta-cognition, since our knowing is far more multidimensional than mere cognition, wonderful as our capacity for thinking is. As we have seen, sapiens also means knowing through tasting, as we have seen, a placeholder for all our senses, far more in number than the conventional five.
