Samenvatting

Vooral voor kinderen zou het ideaal zijn als er een niet-injecteerbare vorm van immunotherapie beschikbaar kwam. De sublinguale therapie zou - in tegenstelling tot de subcutane vorm - zeer weinig tot geen systemische bijwerkingen vertonen en zou daarom mogelijk thuis door de ouders kunnen worden toegediend. Op dit moment zijn er veel studies gaande naar de effectiviteit, de optimale dosering (veel hoger dan subcutaan) en de indicaties voor sublinguale immunotherapie (SLIT).
