Inzichten met betrekking tot het ontstaan van stemmingsstoornissen, de stand van de wetenschapstemmingsstoornissen

Samenvatting

Het ontstaan van stemmingsstoornissen wordt door meerdere factoren bepaald. Hierbij spelen zowel erfelijke als omgevings- en ontwikkelingsfactoren een rol. Onderzoek laat een verband zien tussen het ontstaan van stemmingsstoornissen en genetische factoren, vroege kinderlijke ontwikkeling, persoonlijkheid, stressvolle levensgebeurtenissen en somatische ziekten. Voor de individuele patiënt dient steeds een afweging gemaakt te worden welke factoren van invloed zijn op het ontstaan van de stoornis.
