Samenvatting

Binnen de neurologie en geriatrie wordt nucleaire beeldvorming gebruikt voor diagnostiek van neurodegeneratieve aandoeningen, c.q. bewegingsstoornissen en dementiële aandoeningen, waarbij met verschillende tracers diverse processen in beeld worden gebracht. Dopaminerge beeldvorming middels DaT-SPECT-of [18F]F-DOPA-PET-scans kan worden gebruikt om aandoeningen met een dopaminerg tekort te diagnosticeren. Daarnaast spelen onder ander de [18F]FDG-PET-scan en amyloïd PET-scan een belangrijke rol bij het diagnosticeren van neurodegeneratieve aandoeningen, c.q. bewegingsstoornissen en dementiële aandoeningen. In dit hoofdstuk zullen alle methoden en toepassingen uitvoerig besproken worden.
