Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk worden geneesmiddelgerelateerde problemen gedefinieerd en geplaatst ten opzichte van andere begrippen zoals bijwerkingen en medicatiefouten. We bespreken de oorzaken van de hoge incidentie van geneesmiddelgerelateerde problemen bij ouderen en de incidentie van ziekenhuisopnames ten gevolge van deze problemen. We citeren een aantal instrumenten om geneesmiddelgerelateerde problemen bij ouderen op te sporen en te vermijden.
