Emotieregulatietraining: een groepsbehandeling voor adolescenten

Samenvatting

In dit artikel wordt een behandelmethode gepresenteerd voor jongeren met emotieregulatieproblemen. De emotieregulatietraining (ERT) is een groepsbehandelvorm voor adolescenten. De training is erop gericht de adolescent met emotieregulatieproblemen meer besef van en inzicht in het eigen functioneren en de eigen mogelijkheden te laten verwerven. In de ERT leren jongeren zich bewust te worden van eigen keuzemogelijkheden. Zo veel mogelijk wordt gebruik gemaakt van de kennis die in de groep aanwezig is. Verschillende vaardigheden die kunnen helpen bij het reguleren van emoties komen aan de orde. De ERT wordt gegeven naast het reguliere behandelcontact in de kliniek of op de polikliniek.
