Effectiviteit van interventies op het voorkomen of stoppen van rookgedrag

Samenvatting

In dit artikel worden de resultaten beschreven van een onderzoek naar het effect van leefstijlinterventies gericht op het voorkómen, verminderen of stoppen van rookgedrag die toepasbaar zijn in de bedrijfsgezondheidszorg. Hiervoor is een literatuuronderzoek uitgevoerd en zijn gesprekken gevoerd met contactpersonen van drie arbodiensten, het Astma Fonds, Stivoro, en het Nationaal Instituut voor Gezondheidsbevordering en Ziektepreventie (NIGZ). Uit dit onderzoek komt naar voren dat het merendeel van de werkplek-, eerstelijn- en/of gemeenschapsinterventies positieve effecten laat zien met betrekking tot het verminderen van rookgedrag. Met betrekking tot gezondheidsgerelateerde en werkgerelateerde uitkomstmaten kan geen uitspraak worden gedaan over de effectiviteit van stoppen-met-rokeninterventies wegens het beperkte aantal resultaten. Ook is er te weinig onderzoek gedaan naar de kosteneffectiviteit van de interventies. Bij de ontwikkeling en implementatie van leefstijlinterventies op de werkplek zouden het NIGZ en Stivoro een belangrijke rol kunnen spelen. Tevens zou men kunnen overwegen lokale samenwerkingsverbanden aan te gaan.
