Inleiding

Het interpreteren van een EEG gebeurt altijd in de klinische context. Daarbij is het even belangrijk dat een EEG dat niets toevoegt aan de klinische gegevens ook geen invloed heeft op de besluitvorming, als dat een EEG dat nieuw licht werpt op een casus het verdere handelen bepaalt. Dit hoofdstuk zal daarom ingaan op de specificiteit en sensitiviteit van het EEG bij epilepsie, of liever: de positief en negatief voorspellende waarden die daaruit volgen. En er wordt ingegaan op de rol van het EEG bij:
