9. Diagnostiek van temporomandibulaire aandoeningen

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk geeft inzicht in de processen die een rol spelen bij het stellen van een diagnose bij patiënten met een temporomandibulaire aandoening. Aan de hand van de anamnese en het klinische onderzoek wordt de lezer geleerd om eenvoudig herkenbare temporomandibulaire aandoeningen te diagnosticeren. Samen met de etiologische factoren, de behandelbehoefte en de behandelnoodzaak, vormt dit de basis voor een juiste behandelkeuze. Ook worden er handreikingen gegeven voor de algemeen practicus om in te schatten wanneer klachten meer gecompliceerd zijn en de patiënt beter doorverwezen kan worden naar een specialist.
