DGT en VERS bij patiënten met verslavingsproblematiek

Samenvatting

De laatste jaren is er een trend zichtbaar om dialectische gedragstherapie (DGT) en de Vaardigheidstraining Emotie Regulatie Stoornis (VERS) meer toe te passen binnen de verslavingszorg. Beide therapieën zijn in eerste instantie ontwikkeld voor patiënten met een borderlinepersoonlijkheidsstoornis (BPS). Veel onderzoeken rapporteren een samenhang tussen een BPS en afhankelijkheid van middelen. In beide stoornissen spelen problemen op het gebied van impulscontrole en emotieregulatie een grote rol. Zowel DGT als VERS tracht deze problemen te reduceren. De gedachte is dan ook dat beide trainingen mogelijk effectief zijn op zowel het reduceren van de BPS als de middelenstoornis. Dit artikel gaat in op de vraag of er in de wetenschappelijke literatuur evidentie gevonden wordt om DGT dan wel VERS aan te bieden om middelenafhankelijkheid en/of middelenmisbruik te behandelen.
