Behandeling van ouderen met DM2: een uitdaging!

Samenvatting

Op het eerste gezicht lijkt de behandeling van oudere patiënten met een te hoog HbA1c eenvoudig. Behandeling van patiënten met DM2 die ouder zijn dan 70 jaar omvat echter vaak complexe problematiek. Daarbij gaat het niet alleen om laboratoriumuitslagen, maar ook om een inschatting van de totale situatie van de patiënt. De volgende casus illustreert dat.
