15. Apofysitis calcanei (ziekte van Sever)

Samenvatting

Een 12-jarige voetballer krijgt steeds hielpijn tijdens voetbalwedstrijden. Als hij een tijdje rust neemt, verdwijnt de pijn weer. Echter, als na anderhalf jaar de pijn acuut erger wordt, raadpleegt hij een kinderfysiotherapeut. Hielpijn kan allerlei oorzaken hebben, zeker bij volwassenen. Bij kinderen is de meest voorkomende oorzaak een inflammatie van de calcaneusapofyse. De aandoening wordt ook wel de ziekte van Sever genoemd. Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft de casus, de symptomatologie en de behandeling.
