Addendum: het impingementsyndroom van de schouder

Samenvatting

De eerste 90 graden abductie van de arm wordt voornamelijk tot stand gebracht door contractie van de m. deltoideus (pars acromialis). De m. deltoideus heeft zijn origo aan het acromion en insereert aan de humerus. Tijdens de eerste 90 graden abductie wordt de humeruskop door deze spier naar het acromion toegetrokken (figuur 3a-1). Om te voorkomen dat de humerus tegen het acromion ‘botst’ zal de rotatorcuffmusculatuur contraheren. Hierdoor wordt de humeruskop, op ongeveer één centimeter afstand van het acromion, gefixeerd in de kom.

Débris = afvalmateriaal. Bij débridement worden de resten en rafels van gescheurd wondweefsel verwijderd.

Door middel van scleroserende injecties worden bloedvaatjes vernietigd. Men gebruikt hiervoor polidocanol, een middel dat onder meer wordt toegepast bij de bestrijding van spataderen.

Resectie = partiële verwijdering.

Plastiek = operatief herstel van een lichaamsdeel.
