Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk wordt beschreven hoe de huidige gezonde oudere, de kwetsbare oudere en de oudere met dementie worden gezien in de literatuur. Ouderen worden in de loop van de tijd geconfronteerd met achteruitgang in fysieke, psychische en sociale mogelijkheden. Dit hindert hen in het uitvoeren van dagelijkse activiteiten, het vervullen van bepaalde rollen en het deelnemen aan sociale activiteiten.
