28.2 Incidentalomen

Samenvatting

Een 53-jarige man wordt door de huisarts verwezen in verband met een bij toeval gevonden proces in de rechter bijnierregio. Deze bijniertumor was aan het licht gekomen toen de patiënt een aantal weken eerder het spreekuur bezocht met atypische pijnklachten in de rechter bovenbuik. Omdat de huisarts aanvankelijk aan galsteenlijden dacht, had hij oriënterend bloedonderzoek laten uitvoeren waarbij geen afwijkingen werden gezien. Echografie toonde een normale galblaas zonder stenen, maar in de regio van de rechter bijnier werd een ruimteinnemend proces van 7 cm aangetroffen.
