23 Economische evaluaties van implementatiestrategieën

Samenvatting

  • Economische evaluaties van implementatieprogramma’s worden in toenemende mate uitgevoerd, maar zijn nog steeds relatief zeldzaam.
  • Economische evaluaties van implementatiestrategieën zijn gebaseerd op een expliciete vergelijking van alternatieve manieren om gewenste veranderingen in de zorg in te voeren. In tegenstelling tot economische evaluaties van patiëntgebonden interventies kunnen bij economische evaluaties van implementatiestrategieën zowel proces- als patiëntuitkomsten als effectiviteitsmaten worden gebruikt.
  • Economische evaluaties van implementatiestrategieën zijn het meest zinvol als de kosteneffectiviteit van het gewenste professionele handelen of het zorgproces bekend en acceptabel is. Dan kan de kosteneffectiviteit van het volledig traject – van implementatie tot en met de uiteindelijke patiëntuitkomst – (modelmatig) worden vastgesteld.
  • Bij verbeterprojecten en grootschalige implementatieprojecten is in de regel geen sprake van een volwaardige economische evaluatie, maar de kosten en verandering in de zorg worden afzonderlijk beschreven.
