Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk over diagnostiek en indicatie gaat het om het verzamelen van informatie die van belang is voor het behoud van het kindergebit. Door gegevens te verzamelen over het kind, zijn omgeving, medische aspecten, kennis omtrent gebitsgezondheid, niveau van zelfzorg en de gebitsgezondheid kan men een zo compleet mogelijk beeld van het kind verkrijgen. Bundeling van deze informatie leidt tot een eerste inschatting van het cariësrisico, die kan dienen als basis voor de individuele preventieve en/of curatieve behandeling.
