115. Verworven torticollis

Samenvatting

Torticollis (‘scheefhals’) is het klinische verschijnsel dat gekenmerkt wordt door een rotatiestand van de hals en een scheefstand van het hoofd. Torticollis is geen ziekte, maar een uiting van onderliggende pathologie. Een praktisch onderscheid is de tweedeling in de congenitale torticollis bij neonaten en de verworven torticollis, die over het algemeen voorkomt bij oudere kinderen.
