Abstract

In the summer of 1994, two of the most published authors in the field of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Albert Ellis and Windy Dryden, each saw the same client. Examination of the transcripts shows very different session trajectories when the issues raised by the client are seen by the practitioners either as mainly practical problems that can be immediately addressed or as mainly emotional problems that are to be addressed before moving onto address practical problems.
