The impact of electronic health records on time efficiency of physicians and nurses: a systematic review1)

Samenvatting

Het elektronisch patiëntendossier (EPD) wordt in toernemende mate in de gezondheidszorg gebruikt om de veiligheid en de kwaliteit van de zorg te verbeteren. Optimaal gebruik door verpleegkundigen en clinici is nog steeds niet gerealiseerd ondanks sneller geworden computers, toegenomen verbetering van de software en aan verbetering van rapportage die steeds meer aan de door de professie gestelde specificaties en kwaliteitseisen voldoet. Voor een in de klinische praktijk geïntegreerd gebruik van het EPD wordt in het algemeen een goede ‘fit’ vereist tussen tijdsefficiency en een rapportage die optimaal aansluit op de behoefte in de klinische praktijk.
