109. Piepende ademhaling/happy wheezer

Samenvatting

Piepende ademhaling, ook wel ‘zagen’ of wheezing genoemd, is een bemoeilijkte ademhaling die gepaard gaat met een fluitend geluid, zoals bij asthma bronchiale. Het piepen wordt gehoord tijdens auscultatie van de thorax. Piepen komt vooral voor bij kinderen tussen het eerste en vijfde levensjaar. Het piepen zelf geeft over het algemeen geen klachten.
