Peuterdiarree: oorzaken, diagnostiek en behandeling

Samenvatting

Peuterdiarree is de meest voorkomende oorzaak van chronische diarree bij het jonge kind. Het probleem wordt vooral bepaald door ongunstige voedingsgewoonten en onwetendheid van de ouders. Peuterdiarree ontstaat vaak in aansluiting op een acute gastro-enteritis. Bij het afnemen van de anamnese zijn er meestal typische aanknopingspunten voor de waarschijnlijkheidsdiagnose. Met gerichte dieetadviezen zijn de klachten meestal snel verdwenen. De huisarts heeft een belangrijke taak bij preventie.
