Orf (ecthyma contagiosum) is een virale huidaandoening, vooral bij schapen en geiten, die op mensen wordt overdragen door contact met geïnfecteerde dieren.
Afwachtend beleid is op zijn plaats gezien de doorgaans spontane genezing.
Chirurgisch ingrijpen leidt tot verergering en vertraagde genezing, en moet daarom worden afgeraden.
Antibiotische behandeling is alleen geïndiceerd bij een secundaire bacteriële infectie.
