Jeuk bij psoriasis en wat daaraan te doen valt

Samenvatting

Jeuk komt veel voor bij psoriasis en drukt vaak een grote stempel op het dagelijks functioneren van patiënten. Het hebben van jeuk is onder meer geassocieerd met een lager zelfvertrouwen, een verminderde stemming en een afgenomen kwaliteit van leven. Daarnaast induceert krabben huidschade, wat nieuwe psoriasishuidafwijkingen kan uitlokken (isomorf prikkeleffect ofwel köbner-fenomeen). Aandacht voor jeukklachten en behandeling specifiek gericht tegen de jeuk zijn daarom van belang in de zorg voor patiënten met psoriasis. In dit artikel bespreken wij de epidemiologie, de pathogenese en de topicale en systemische behandelopties van jeuk bij psoriasis.
