Kernpunten

  • Hypertrofische littekens en keloïd zijn overmatige bindweefselproliferaties van de huid, meestal ontstaan na een huidtrauma.
  • Deze proliferaties komen vaker voor bij personen met een donkere huid (vooral Afrikaans of Aziatisch huidtype).
  • Het lokaal aanbrengen van een siliconen- of hydrocolloïdpleister is mogelijk effectief.
  • Intralaesionale corticosteroïdinjecties zijn in veel gevallen effectief.
